She married Richard Rock in 1951 and remained with him until her death in 1961. He adopted her daughter from her previous marriage, and they had two sons together.
She was critically injured and severely brain damaged in an automobile accident in November 1961, an accident caused by a drunken driver who left the scene of the accident and was never caught. Remaining in a coma for five weeks, Haily died on Christmas Eve 1961, and was buried on Boxing Day, the 26th.
