Around 1888 her mother, Wilhelmina, had given birth to Martha Schultz(1886), pregnant fifth child while Mr Schultz was most likely ill based on his death date. She gave her fourth child, Martha Schultz, to Ottilie Schmidt to immigrate to America. Ottillie immigrated with 2 year old Martha Schultz and her three month old son, George A. Schmidt.
Strangely, Martha Schultz(1886) was NOT listed in 1900 (age 14) Ohio Census with Ottillie and Edward Schmidt's family. Her adopted daughter, Martha Schultz (1886) married William Kuchenberg. For some reason, Martha's marriage certificate says that Edward Schmidt is her adopted father but she identifies a Mary Meyer as her mother.
