Knudt Amundson was born in North Odalen, Norway in 1841. At the age of 32 he immigrated to America. He came to Dakota Territory and homesteaded in Fairview Township(Section 22), Lincoln County in 1877. The log house that he built is still standing. He married Rangdi and they settled on the homestead until their deaths.
Every year Knudt took a load of wheat to a mill at LeMars, Iowa to have it ground into flour. This trip would take more than a week.
Knudt and Rangdi's children: Carl 1878-1954, Albert 1881-1954, Annie 1881-1881, Henry 1884-1903, Annie 1886-1971, Clara 1888-1981 and Julia 1891-1980.
