Verna passed away on Thursday April 25, 2002, at 82 years young. She was a retired secretary with the USDA Forestry Dept. for over 34 years. She was a member of Long Beach Presbyterian Church & active in the choir for 40 years. She was also a member of the Long Beach Yacht Club, Ladies Auxiliary, Long Beach Historical Society, and the registar of the DAR.
Verna was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson P. Steagall, children Linda Marlene Steagall & Jeffrey Lynn Steagall, her parents KV Woodward, Sr & Inez Woodward, and brother, KV Woodward, Jr. Survived by her daughter, Patricia ''Patti'' Steagall, siblings, Guy E. Woodward, Sr., Elizabeth W Bell & Rosina W Braud.
