William "Bill" Ernest McCammon, 91, of Montpelier, IN, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009, at Miller's Merry Manor in Hartford City.

Mr. McCammon farmed all his life and also worked as a custodian for the Blackford County Schools, retiring in 1984. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Montpelier, was a founding member of the Blackford County Soil and Water Conservation District and served on the Township Advisory Board. He was a 1936 graduate of Montpelier High School and studied agriculture at Purdue University.

He was born Dec. 16, 1917, in Wells County to Gettys and Nova (Green) McCammon. He married Anna Kathleen Campbell on Oct. 26, 1939. His wife preceded him in death.

Survivors include a daughter Ann (Dave) Trevarton, of Greeley, CO; two sons, Neil (Sue) McCammon, of Muncie, and Ted (Cathie) McCammon, of Montpelier; two brothers, John (Ann) McCammon, of Warren, and Darrell (Pat) McCammon, of Hartford City; a sister, Betty Hoeksema, of Des Moines, IA; nine grandchildren, Keith Trevarton, of Greeley, Co; Kathy (Phil) Fagler, of Loveland, CO: Cheryl (David) Rivers, of Glen Rock, PA; Douglas (Shelia) McCammon, of Muncie; Karen Pirtle, of Avon; Rene Blubaugh, of Bloomington; Margie (Jim) Taylor, of Brazil; Carrie (BJ) Siler, of St. Louis, MO; and Cristie (Jay) Reed, of Breckenridge, MI; 21 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

A service was held Monday, Sept. 28, 2009, at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home, Montpelier, with Les Bantz officiating. Burial was at Union Cemetery, Eaton.
