OBIT: ALLIANCE JOURNAL Clarksville, Texas, 20 Nov 1889, from microfilm in the Clarksville Library: Mrs. Paulk, wife of Mr. S. A. Paulk, died of pneumonia last Friday evening, at her home on Brewster Prairie, and was buried Sunday at the community burying ground. She leaves a husband and four sons to mourn the loss of the dearest treasure of life, a devoted wife and tender, indulgent mother. The bereaved relatives have the sympathy of all who, knowing Mrs. Paulk as a noble Christian woman, share with them their great loss. The highest tribute that can be paid to her many virtues is to say she was a wife and mother, devoted in all the tenderness, sacrifices and duties which belonged to her station in life. Her husband is now lying in a critical condition, with slight chance of his recovery
