Shelby- Elizabeth Alice Dixon Johnson, 86, of 217 Country Club Rd. died January 1, 2011 at White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain.

A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Claude Ruffin Dixon and Sallie Blanche Alexander Dixon. Mrs. Johnson was co owner of Tom's Fresh Eggs, Eagle's Nest, and a Santa Gertudis herd of cattle. She also taught decorative art for Cleveland Community College. She was a member of Kadesh UMC, secretary of Carrousel Board, art director for the carrousel project on which she volunteered many hours, member of the National Society of Decorative Painters, traveled extensively studying decorative painting under nationally known instructors, and was a gifted artist and loving mother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas "Tom" James Johnson, and two brothers, William A. Dixon and Monroe Dixon.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, James Dixon "Dickie" Johnson and wife Ouida of Folkton, GA and Gary Claude Johnson and wife Betty of Lake Lure; former daughter-in-law, Martha Johnson; four grandchildren, Allyson King of Cary, Elizabeth Vinesett of Boiling Springs, Michael Johnson and Tracy Lowe both of Shelby; and seven great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at Kadesh UMC with the Rev. Patricia Chaput officiating. The body will be placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 PM Monday at Stamey Funeral Home in Fallston.
