Arnold I. Albertz, 89, of 574 East Division Street, Fond du Lac, died Saturday, June 2, 2007 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born on April 24, 1918 in Chetek, Wisconsin, the son of Arnold "Chief" and Flora Mertens Albertz. Arnold married Lorraine M. Kuphal on June 14, 1957 in Fond du Lac and would have celebrated 50 years of marriage this June. He served five years in the Army Air Corp during WWII in North Africa, Sicily and Italy. Arnold was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, North Fond du Lac. Arnold was a resident of Horicon, Wisconsin and retired in 1980 after 32 years as a Quality Assurance Manager at John Deere Horicon Works. In his early years he enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing and boating. He also enjoyed spending his winters in Arizona for the past 20 years. Arnold was a lifelong Democrat active in all social concerns.

SURVIVORS: His wife, Lorraine; five children, Arnold D. (Carol) Albertz, Fond du Lac, Pamela (John) Kollmann, Oakfield, Karen (Roger) Deglow, Nekoosa, John (Susan) Kohls, Horicon, Marshelle "Shelly" (Steve) Ford, DeForest; 15 grandchildren, Peter Albertz, Matthew Albertz, Anthony (Janelle) Albertz, James Albertz, Maggie (Peter) Sventek, Shannon (Jessie) Patterson, John (Therese) Krause, Laura (Rick) Ruotsala, Jonell Kollmann, Greg Kollmann, Kristi (John) Tiedt, Stacey (Pat) Ehlenfeldt, Ransom (Crystal) Deglow, Lauren Ford, Courtney Ford; 21 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Lois Schwartz, Lorraine Bender, June "Onie" Schaetzel, Ruth "Tootie" (Wayne Kaiser) Albertz, and Elaine Lamb, all of Fond du Lac. He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Roger Deglow, Jr.; one great-grandson, Lucas Albertz; two sisters, Doris Roberts and Evelyn "Mazie" Schneider; two brothers, Milton and Lincoln "Linc" Albertz.


Funeral Information
VISITATION: will be from 4-8 PM on Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and again on Wednesday from 9-10 AM at the church. The funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, North Fond du Lac with Rev. Michael Kampman officiating. Entombment will follow in Ledgeview Memorial Park.
