Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Burklow, aged seventy-seven, died Sunday morning at 4:15 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lillie B. Hirtreiter, 774 West Center street. The cause of her death was hardening of the arteries.

For the last three years, she has made her home with her daughter. Her maiden name was Wasson. She was born in Golconda, Ill, June 1, 1848.

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Lillie B Hirtreiter of Decatur, Mrs. Mina E Merrill of Jonesboro, Ark, Mrs. R F. Blanchard of Jonesboro, Ark, and Mrs. W. M. Mugge of Golconda; one son, C W. Mott of Golconda; four sisters, Mrs. Sarah Williams of Paducah, Ky., Mrs. Jane Williams of Roseclair, IL., Mrs. Julia Gibbons of Harrisburg, IL., and Mrs. Laura Wallace of Eldorado; five brothers, Rev. M.C. Wasson and J.H. Wasson of Golconda, M.W. Wasson of Eldorado, and V. Wasson of Carrier Mills, Il. She also leaves 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
