The following obituary was published in the Herald Coaster on June 19, 1979:

"Charlie Frank Abendroth, Sr."

Funeral services for Charlie Frank Abendroth, Sr., 70, of Brazoria are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church of Brazoria with the Rev. James Howard assisted by Rev. Herman Coe officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton, all under the direction of Baker's Funeral Home in Brazoria.

Mr. Abendroth died early Monday morning at Methodist Hospital in Houston. He was retired from Phillips Petroleum Co.

Mr. Abendroth is survived by four sons, Kenneth Douglas Abendroth of Dickenson, Carroll Dean Abendroth and William Earl Abendroth, both of Rosenberg, and Dr. C. F. Abendroth, Jr. of Houston; three brothers; O'Farrell Abendroth of Bay City, John Abendroth of New Orleans and Farmer Abendroth of Shreveport; three sisters, Aileen Lyons and Mackey Weedman, both of Wharton and Tiny Collins of Hammond, La. and eight grandchildren.

Mr. Abendroth was born April 15, 1909 in Needville. * * *
