Richard Houston Simril, Sr. is the son of Lewis Milos Simril and Alice Houston. He is the grandson of Robert Eaton Simril and Annie Sallie Robinson of Newnan, Ga. He married Henrietta Brown and they had Louis Simril and Richard Houston Simril, Jr.
He was the twin brother of Ruby Simril. On the family bible page, it is listed as Ruby & Richard Simril so it appears that he may have been the younger twin.
