According to the Daughters of the American Revolution records, George Wilson Humphreys was the son of Ralph and Agnes (Wilson) Humphreys. His father Ralph was a Revolutionary War Solider, serving under Captain B C Spiller and Lieut Quarles in the 2nd Virginia Regiment. George was born 23 March 1771 in South Carolina and died 15 December 1843 in Claiborne County, Mississippi. He was married to Sarah Terry Smith 17 January 1792 in Claiborne County, Mississippi.
