Mary Jane Howell Huemme, 92, of Mount Vernon died Saturday. She was a member of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Greenock, the Youghiogheny Country Club, Century Club and Junior Committee of McKeesport Hospital, Queen Alliquippa Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society, Pittsburgh Iris and Daylily Society. She was active in the organization of THEOS and was instrumental in the development of the Boston Honor Roll. She enjoyed horseback riding.
Born Nov. 1, 1904, in Elizabeth Twp., she was a daughter of the late Robert Johnston Howell and Nancy Steward (Stewart) Whigham Howell and the wife of the late Herman R. Huemme. Surviving are nieces and nephews.
Friends are being received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Drew J. Gilbert Funeral Home, Inc., Boston, Elizabeth Twp. Service will be conducted tomorrow at 11 a.m. in Peace Lutheran Church by the Rev. William B. Henry Jr. Interment will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery, Elizabeth Twp.
