SGT US Army World War II. A member of a Riverview founding family he volunteered for the Army, He was there for the landing of Normandy with a medic bag and never spoke of his service, He served 8 years then came home and started a family then volunteered as a paramedic and with his family helped establish the Riverview fire dept.

He saved many lives and touched many more with his heart.
He was quite honestly one of the greatest and most pure hearted persons I have ever met. His daughter in law (my mother) called him the greatest man ever born instead of Ira. He was a quiet gentle giant.
