Willard G. Anderson age 91 of Spring Hill, KS passed away June 23rd at Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
Willard was born Jan. 26, 1919 in Creston, Iowa to Alfred and Lilly Hatten Anderson. He was raised in Iowa where he received his education. He served in the United States Army during WWII. Willard was united in marriage to Carol Braly Bond on Nov. 29, 1990. After the war Willard worked at various jobs in Iowa, southern Missouri and Kansas. He was also in charge of building maintenance for the Marian Springs Elementary School for 17 years before retiring on July 1, 1991. He also worked for the University Of Kansas Campus Police for over 25 years.
Willard enjoyed working in his garden, drawing, playing his guitar, and was active in his church activities. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, and one sister, Berneice Anderson.
Surviving are his wife, Carol of the home; three stepchildren; Denise Sprague of Spring Hill, Elizabeth Lockhart of Marion, Iowa, and Jennifer Adkins of Paola; 11 step-grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
