On June 24, 1950, she married Charles Richard Cowles and together they raised two daughters and enjoyed 47 years of marriage until Charles passed away in 1997. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Elisabeth "Betsi" Riva in 2016; a granddaughter, Sarah Marie Gregory; a brother, Ronald L. Godfrey in 2006; and a sister-in-law, Linda Godfrey in 2009.
A graduate of Greenville High School, Glenna had also worked outside the home as a secretary at the United Methodist Church in Belding.
Surviving are a daughter, Cynthia Marie Stewart of Belding; a grandson, Christopher Stewart of Belding; two brothers, Dick & Nora Godfrey, and Gilbert Godfrey, all of Greenville; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside committal services are at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding, with Pastor Mike Austin of Liberty Baptist Church officiating.
