LIGONIER - Max L. McFarren, 77, of Ligonier died on Sunday, February 21, 2010 at 1:10 A.M. at Parkview Memorial Hospital in Fort Wayne.

He was born on November 26, 1932 in Noble County, Indiana to Clarence and Ruth (Baker) McFarren. He lived in the Ligonier, Cromwell all of his life.

On August 4, 1951 he married Dorothy (Baker) McFarren at the Sparta Parsonage in Kimmell, she survives in Ligonier.

Mr. McFarren was a farmer for his life's work and also delivered RV's. He was a member of Cromwell F & AM Masonic Lodge #205 and Stone's Hill Community Church in Ligonier. He loved his grandchildren, farming, traveling and delivering RV's. He also loved going to the Dairy Point in Ligonier with the guys to have coffee.

Other survivors include a son and daughter n law, Lance and Betty McFarren of Ligonier, two daughters and son n laws, Deena and Greg Rupert of Albion and Michele and Tom Ritchie of Ligonier. Twelve grandchildren, Jamie and Kendal Rupert, Brad (Kim) Rupert, Deana (Joe) Sutherland, Thomas Max (Dawn) Ritchie, Kelly (Aaron) Cole, Tracy (Chris) Mullins, Abby (Andy) Reed, Brooke Stauffer, Mallory, Morgan and Riley McFarren. 15 great grandchildren, brother n law and sister n law, Donald "Whitey" and Rosemary Gillespie of Ligonier.

He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Stephanie McFarren and a brother.

Funeral services for Mr. McFarren will be Thursday, February 25, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Stone's Hill Community Church, 151 Stones Hill Rd, Ligonier. Pastor Joey Nelson will officiate. Calling will be from 2-8 PM on Wednesday at the church, also one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Ritchie, Chris Mullins, Aaron Cole, Andy Reed, Riley McFarren, and Caleb Gilbert, Honorary pallbearers will be Jamie and Kendal Rupert.

Burial following the funeral will be at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell.
