Amandus C. "A.C." Allison, 93, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010, at the Stanton County Long Term Care Unit in Johnson City.

He was born Sept. 7, 1917, in Caney, to Joseph L. and Anna Hanson Allison.

On Dec. 21, 1941, he married Vivian Schul. She died in 1985. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer Allison; and a sister, Virginia Feeler.

In 1987, he and Elizabeth Adams were married. She survives.

Mr. Allison worked at the Cities Service Gas Co. plant in Ulysses for many years before moving into Ulysses. He retired in 1980. He and Elizabeth resided together in Manter until the past four years, when he was in the long term care unit.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a brother, Cleo Allison of Coffeyville; a daughter, Karen Anderson of Ulysses; a son, Curtis Allison of League City, Texas; three stepsons, Fred Adams of Larned, Forrest Adams of Hugoton, and Gary Adams of Johnson City; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral was at the Manter Methodist Church in Manter. Burial was at Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses.
