Clarence L. Barney, 87, of Nampa, died Monday, Oct. 21, 1991, at the Nampa hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, at the Nampa 5th Ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Sunny Ridge Road, with Bishop Jay Fuhriman officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell. Services are under the direction of The Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.

Mr. Barney was born May 25, 1904, at Monroe, Utah, where he was reared and educated. He married Myrtle L. Lorensen on Oct. 26, 1929, at Salt Lake City, Utah, and their marriage was solemnized March 27, 1964, at the Salt Lake City Temple. Following their marriage they made their home at Salt Lake City until moving to Elsinore, Utah. In 1940 they moved to Austin, Utah, and to Nampa in 1948. They farmed in Nampa until 1970 when they retired. Mrs. Barney preceded him in death Oct. 8, 1972. He married Helen Payne Sept. 15, 1973, at Nampa. He was a member of the Nampa 5th Ward, LDS Church, a member and past president of the Southside Boulevard Grange and a member of the Nampa Countryman's Club.

Clarence is survived by his wife, Helen Barney, Nampa; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kent and Mary R. Barney, Meridian and G. Scott and Kathy Barney, Richland, Wash.; three brothers, Byron Barney, Provo, Utah, Jay Barney, Ogden, Utah, and Foster Barney, Rancho Murieta, Calif.; a sister, Vera Robinson, Ogden, Utah; 17 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Mavis Ward and Janis Moon.
