West Lawn, Feb 10 - The funeral of Esther (nee DeTurk), widow of Alfred Unger, took place from the residence of her son, Calvin A., at this place. The remains reposed in a fine square-cornered oak casket, with full bar extension bronze handles and plate and satin lining, were attired in a fine black dress and covered with an eiderdown slumber robe. The tributes were: Spray of wax lilies, Willing Workers of Strausstown; galax wreath and carnations, sons and families; spray, carnations, grandchildren. The bearers at the house were William Stricker, William Walters, Milton Albright, Albert Stoudt, Frank Noll and George Reinert; at the church, John H. Stahl, Jacob B. Dierwechter, Emanuel S. Borkey, Michael H. Klahr, Peter Rollman and Caleb B. Degler. Servies were held at the house by Rev. J. W. Lazarus, and thence the cortege proceeded to Zion's Union Church, Strausstown. Further services were held by Rev. Ira W. Klick. Interment was made in the cemetery adjoining. The funeral was very largely attended. Funeral Director C. N. Lamm had charge.
