John G. Andrews, son of John Frederick (Andres) Andrews (1840-1903) and Caroline Margaret Zang (1847-1903), was born in Ebenezer Ridge, Randolph County, and died in the Tri-State Tornado that hit Murphysboro, Jackson County, on March 18, 1925.

He married Maude Steele, daughter of William and Eliza Steele, in 1903 in Chester, Illinois.

They had seven children: Loyd, who died as a child, Leland (b. 1906), John (b. 1907), Harry (b. 1910), Paul (b. 1912), Mildred (b. 1917) and Juanita (b. 1919).

He was a member of the Methodist Church in Murphysboro.
