Last Rites Friday For Mrs Cowan
Funeral services for Mrs Lulu R Cowan of Happy were conducted Friday at 3 pm in LaGrone Funeral Chapel in Canyon.
Burial followed in the Happy Cemetery. Rev Vernon Willard of the Happy First Methodist Church officiated.
Mrs Cowan died Wednesday in the home of her daughter, Mrs O M Cox, 610 NW 3rd, in Happy.
She had lived in Happy 46 years. She married Earl E Cowan in Amarillo in 1921. Mr Cowan died April 14, 1961.
Mrs Cowan was born in Chase, Kansas, January 9, 1893.
She was a housewife, and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Happy.
Pall bearers in the Friday services were Cone Johnson, Ernest White, Conway Kuykendall, Thomas L Sexton, Embry Finley, Gordon Greenfield, Bob Francis, Roy Elkins and Aldon Mann.
Survivors include one son, Earl E Cowan, Jr, of Lockhard; two daughters, Mrs O M Cox of Happy and Mrs W A Berry of Amarillo; one half sister, Emma Flora of Chase, Kansas, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
