Frank was what is commonly referred to as a "Little Person". Because of his small stature, Frank gained employment at the Lockheed Corporation which commonly hired those coined as "Little People" because they could gain access to spaces within the aircraft that others could not.

While working, Frank was walking across the wing of a large airplane when he lost his footing and fell several yards to the hard concrete below. He became permanently disabled, requiring a wheel chair and relied on assisted living facilities. He passed away at the age of 61 on March 22, 1971.
