Monday, December 19, 1983, p. 2, HARVEY HILL BRANDENBURG,
Mr. Harvey Hill Brandenburg, 101 years of age, of Molena, and former resident of Concord, died Sunday in the Griffin-Spalding Hospital.
Mr. Brandenburg was a native of Meriwether County and had been a resident of Molena for the past four years. Before his retirement he operated a cash store in Concord and was mayor of Concord from 1912 to 1935. He was undertaker for R. F. Strickland Company from 1904 until 1934, and began an undertaker in Greenville.
He was a member of Concord United Methodist Church and served as Sunday School superintendent for 27 years. Mr. Brandenburg was a former member of the Woodsman of the World.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Pilkenton Brandenburg of Molena, GA; his son Harvey H. Brandenburg, Jr. of Englewood, FL, two grandsons, Reid Brandenburg of Englewood, FL and John Webb of Sarasota, FL and three great grand children.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 P.M. in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church near Molena. The Rev. Bob Reynolds, the Rev. Bob Williams, the Rev. Bob McCombs and the Rev. Hugh pope will officiate. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery in Concord.
The body will remain at Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home in Thomaston until carried to the church. Friends may visit the family at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. James Pilkenton in Molena from 7-9 o'clock tonight. In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions be made to a favorite church.
