Sarah was born in Pennsylvania and moved to Ripley County, Indiana, before she was five years old. Her family then moved on to Washington Co., Indiana.
As a young woman, she taught school in Washington Co., Indiana, and it was there that she married Alfred MORRIS on June 2, 1866.
She and Alfred had four children, all born in Indiana: Davodello (daughter, b. 1867, 1st m. RYAN, 2nd m. ROSELLE), John L. (b. Feb. 1869, a twin), Harry L. (1869-1943, a twin), and Florence O. (b. 1870).
The family moved to Boistford, Washington, in October 1881. Mrs. Morris was a Methodist for the last 40 years of her life.
