John Corbley Baker, who was born May 17, 1856, and a resident of North Charleroi for a period of 23 years, died at the Charleroi-Monessen hospital yesterday morning, his passing being due to a complication of diseases.
Decedent was a son of William and Johanna Baker of Beallsville. In the year 1880, date November 8 (?), he was united in marriage to Miss Isabelle Yorty, whose death occurred two years ago. There survive his two daughters, Mrs. Walter Stewart, North Charleroi; Mrs. R. G. Staley, Trafford, PA, two brothers, James Baker, Beallsville, and W. H. Baker, Centerville, PA.
Mr. Baker was a member of the Carpenters' Union and the Loyal Order of Moose. His last illness was of but few days' duration.
Funeral services will be held at the late residence of the deceased on Tuesday afternoon, with the Rev. John R. Burson, erstwile pastor of the Washington Avenue Presbyterian church officiating, with interment in the Beallsville cemetery.
