From Charleroi Mail May 16, 1919: James Robertson Bair of Deemston, died at his home at that place Wednesday afternoon aged 80 years. He was a veteran of the civil war and served one term as clerk of the county commissioners. One of his sons, Charles Bair, lives in Charleroi. Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 0'clock.

From Washington Reporter May 15, 1919: Robinson Baer, a lifelong and wellknown farmer of Deemston, died yesterday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock at his home after several months illness. Death was due to complications. He was aged about 75 years. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m., at his late home, and the interment will be made in the Beallsville cemetery. The deceased was a veteran of the Civil war and an active member of the G.A.R. post at Centerville. He is survived by his wife and these children: Edna and Walter, at home; Professor Emerson E. Baer of Pittsburgh; Charles Baer, of Charleroi. He was a member of the Mount Zion Methodist Protestant Church. He had followed farming all his life.
