OSCAR EARL EAST
MESA ARIZ - Funeral services were held Tuesday for Oscar Earl East 79, of Mesa, who died Friday in a Riverside, Calif., hospital after a long illness.
Mrs. East was born in Warren, Utah a son fo David and Martha Wayment East. He was married to Ella Judkins in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Sept 6, 1916. He lived most of his life in Warren and moved to Mesa in 1961. He was a farmer and had delivered The Ogden Standard-Examiner for 24 years. An active member of the LDS Church he was a member of the 10th Ward in the Mericopa North Stake. He had been chairman of the Warren Ward genealogical organization, president of the MIA and assistant Sunday School superintendent. He served two stake missions the North Weber Stake and Ogden. He had been a ward teacher and home teacher and worked in the LDS Temples in Logan, Salt Lake City and Mesa.
Surviving are his widow; one son, Norman J. East, Long Beach Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Wesley C. (Cleo) Neugart, Riverside, Calif.; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are one brother and two sisters, Alvia D. East, Mrs. Elmer G. (Irene) Rose, both of Warren; Mrs. W. Jay (Lola) Wright, Pleasant View, Utah; one half brother Arthur W. Marriott, Warren.
