Clarification needed - her maiden name/parents name as given in obit (Homister) does not match her name given on birth record for any of her children (Pilkington). Was her maiden name Homister or Pilkington? Did she perhaps take the name from a marriage her mother might have had?

EXPLANATION of maiden/father's name:
The man named as her father (Eligah Homister) was actual born as a Pilkington/Pilkinton. His father James Thomas Pilkington died, and his mother Mary Viney Johnson Pilkington, married a man by the name of Fred Homister. She had 4 sons by James Pilkington. When she married Fred, some of the sons took his name. ------ [data courtesy Lynn Nolan Molanders].
