Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home, Newton, with Rev. Stephen Willis officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednes-day at the funeral home. A private graveside service will be held later at Higgins Cemetery, Falmouth. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Newton Community High School Bass Team.
David was born August 11, 1950, to Glennard and Genevieve (French) Bunton in Effingham. David had three brothers, Mike (Diane) Bunton of Newton, Randy (Barb) Bunton of Newton and Jim Bunton of Hammond, IN.
David graduated from Newton Community High School in 1968 and Lake Land College, Mattoon, in 1969. He was a lifelong machinist, farmer and recent truck driver for Andy Shull.
David married his high school sweatheart, Glenda Bales of Newton, on November 15, 1969. He had two children, Evan (Ashley) Bunton of Chesterfield, MO., and Holly (Chad) Farley of Newton. He had three grandchildren, Cole, Ross and Luke Farley.
David enjoyed riding motorcycles, looking for mushrooms, deer hunting and bass fishing. He was a member of the Jasper County Bass Club. He enjoyed being outdoors amd working in his garden.
David was preceded in death by his father; and grandparents, Elmer and Bertha French and Ray and Gladys Bunton, all of Newton.
