Born Nov. 13, 1923, in Clinchco, Va., she was the daughter of the late Amos and Virgie May Gibson Hurd of Mount Hope.
Mrs. Dancy had been a resident of West Virginia prior to moving to Manteca, Calif., where she resided for 45 years before moving to Vermilion one and a half years ago.
She enjoyed reading, music, especially listening to Elvis Presley music, and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include two sons, Curtis Dancy of Tracy, Calif., and Frank Dancy of Manteca, Calif.; one daughter, Rejeania Flannery of Berlin Heights, Ohio; one brother, Newton Hurd of Woodstock, Va.; three sisters: Joyce Hurd Edmonds of Berryville, Va., Versa E. Hurd Painter of Pax and Navada Hurd Angel of Stokesbury; 10 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Dancy, in 1993; her parents, Amos and Virgie Mae Gibson Hurd; a daughter, Judy Kenova Dancy; great-granddaughter, Michelle Powell; three brothers, Ralph, Elmo and Elgie Hurd; and two sisters, Agnes Hurd Akers and Lois Hurd Treadway.
Graveside service and burial will be held at Park View Cemetery in Stockton, Calif.
