Age 84. Passed away April 9, 1966 in the West View Nursing Home following a long illness. Mr. Asby was born in Racine on Dec. 15, 1881 and had been a lifetime resident. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Asby had been employed by the Railway Express Co. for many years. He was a member of St. Edward's Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, and the Apostolate of the Suffering. Surviving are his wife, Josephine; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cathryn and Joseph Vosika of Racine and Lois and Anthony Dominick of Upland, Calif.; one son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Alvin Jr. and Ann Asby of Waukesha, Wis.; nine grand-children; one sister, Mrs. Amanda Hanson of Racine and one brother-in-law, Richard Larsen, also of Racine; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 13 at 9 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Edward's Church, Rt. Rev. Msgr. Richard Schaefer officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wilson Funeral Home, 1139 Blaine Ave., Tuesday after 4 p.m. and during the evening. The Rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
