Flora Gladys Guffey was born March 29, 1909, near Swearengin, Alabama. She was the daughter of Ephraim Monroe & Susan Elizabeth Willmon Guffey.

Gladys married Leroy Pritchett, son of William Oscar Pritchett & Middie Wilcox Pritchett, on July 20, 1923. To this union was born thirteen children - Bernice Opal, William Monroe, Cleo, Homer Clyde, J.B., Calvin Gene, Redia Sue (Shadden), Martha Katherine (Michaels), Vida (Cooper), Charndle, Carter Johnson, Carlon Dale, and Brenda Patricia (Sealey).
Gladys and Leroy were members of the Oak Grove Holiness Church.

Gladys passed away at a Chattanooga hospital on December 27, 1983. Her funeral was held at the Oak Grove Church with Bro. Lawrence Brown and Bro. Willard Wooten (her first cousin), officiating. She was then laid to rest in the New Prospect Cemetery next to Leroy, and two of her children - Opal and Homer Clyde.
