SYLVIA M. HOEVEL, 98, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010, at Swiss Village, Berne. Born March 18, 1912, in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of the late Henry L. and Hattie Louisa Treu Lee. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and was an avid Bridge player. She is survived by her children, Phyllis (Robert) Rife, Mary (Rene) Vansteelandt, Helen (Eugene) Bulmahn, and David (Barbara) Hoevel; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. On June 23, 1932, she married her husband, Alfred J. Hoevel; he passed away on Oct. 8, 1982. She was also preceded in death by two grandchildren; and nine siblings. Funeral service is 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 4 to 6 p.m. be Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne.
