Elder Hewett David Hamrick

Elder Hewett David "HD" Hamrick, 83 of Addison passed away on December 27, 2010 at his home.
He was born on June 17, 1927 in Cullman to William and Ruby Dickerson Hamrick.
Mr. Hamrick served his country in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953 in the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Hamrick became an ordained minister in 1970 and pastored the Corinth Old School Baptist Church. He owned and operated Hamrick's transmission shop from 1967 to 1992. He especially enjoyed joining in fellowship with church members.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6-9pm at Nichols Funeral Home Addison, where services will be held on Wednesday at 1:00pm. Elder Claude Hand and Elder Alan Bailey will officiate. Burial will be at Kemp Cemetery in Addison.

He is survived by his loving wife on 59 years Norma Elizabeth Whitfield Hamrick; son, George Hamrick of Addison; daughters, Brenda (Rickie) Brannon of Addison and Theresa (Charles) Westmoreland of Addison; brother, Orton Hamrick of Phenix City; sisters, Arrie Vincent of Logan, Mavinee (Odis) Bishop of Arley, Roxie Allen of Eufaula and Ivanell (Council) Harrison of Ft. Mitchell; he was paw paw to Shelley Lacy, Steve Brannon, April Westmoreland, Carly Westmoreland, Tiffany Sprinkle and Adam Hamrick.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Will and Ruby Hamrick, brothers, Othell and Arnold Hamrick, sisters, Obera Knighten, Shelby Jean, and Sheryl Dean Hamrick.
