Mrs. Nannie Stewart Whigham-Howell, wife of Robert J. Howell, and a formerly widely known resident of this city, died yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the family home in Elizabeth township, near Mt. Vernon Presbyterian church, on the fifty-fourth anniversary of her birth. Death was due to a complication of ailments with which she had been suffering for the past two weeks.
Mrs. Howell was born in Versailles township on January 21, 1870, and had resided in this immediate vicinity all her life. Besides her husband, she is survived by the following children: R. Earl Howell, of Sawtelle, Cal.; James W. Howell, of St. Louis, Mo.; Glenn W. Howell, of Boston, Pa.; Mrs. Helen W. Pflumm, of Elizabeth township; Mrs. Marguerite Armstrong, of Ohio; and Mary J., Martha and John Howell, at home; also by grandchildren. Funeral services have not been completed, but will be announced on arrival home of her son Earl, who has been in California for the benefit of his health.
