Norman is the son of George Robert Copping and his wife Emma Louise Black Copping. he married Virginia Norton of Forrest City, Arkansas on the 28th of February 1914 in Arkansas. They made their home in Toronto. Norman and Virginia had two daughters Cynthia Dana Copping Crookston and Virginia Norton Copping Wilson Johnston. Norman's parents, George and Emma Copping, lost their lives in the sinking of the Lusitania in May 1915. Norman was in Canada's Royal Grenadiers Regiment and Representatives of the Royal Grenadiers attended the memorial of Norman's parents. Norman had been a co-partner in his father's firm G R Copping and sons Manufacturing of Toronto. After the death of his father, he and his brother Russell continued to operate the Copping firm. Norman Judson Copping died of Pneumonia at home.
