Mrs. Gladys Woods, 76, died at 3 p.m. Monday in Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient for 12 days.
She was born Sept. 18, 1886, at Kalida and had lived in Lima for 40 years, residing at 516 W. Spring. She was the widow of William C. Woods, who died May 1, 1962.
She was a charter member of St. Mark's Methodist Church and had taught the Gradatim School Class for 34 years. She was a member of Trinity Chapter 16 of the Order of Eastern Star and Mayflower Lodge 241 of the Ladies Society of the Brotherhood of Locomotive, Firemen and Engineers, the YWCA, Shakespeare Club of Lima and the Lima Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by one son, Norman Delaney of 518 W. Spring; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Bessie) Hicks, of Inverness, Fla.; two brothers, Bernard J. Beach, Daytona Beach, Fla., and Richard Beach, Grosse Pointe, Mich.; two sisters, Mrs. Margie Tepiot, Holly Hill, Fla., and Mrs. Beatrice Hawkins, Daytona Beach, Fla., three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Lewis Memorial Chapel after 7 p.m. today.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in St. Mark's Methodist Church with Rev. Frank Rowe officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church from 1:30 p.m. the day of the funeral.
