Owenton, Ky., May 8. --- Keightley Jump, 36 years old, father of six small children, was shot to death in front of his home here at 5:30 o'clock this afternoon by his 70-year-old uncle, Alfred "Jack" Bickers.
Bickers surrendered to Owen County police following the shooting and is being held on a murder charge.
The shooting is said to have occurred following an argument over Bickers' treatment of the Jump children. The two families live in adjoining property, and Bickers is said to have cursed the Jump children for making noise in front of his home.
Jump, it is said, struck Bickers on the head with a croquet mallet during the argument. Bickers fired once at his nephew.
