He was born on July 20, 1928 in Nakina, NC to Charlie H. Faulk and Ellen Little Faulk.
Charlie graduated from Tabor City High School and King's College in Charlotte, NC with a degree in Business Accounting in 1956. He served in the US Air Force from September 20, 1950 to August 26, 1954. Charlie was a member of College Acres Baptist Church. He retired from Cape Fear Motor Sales in 1996 with 29 years of service.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Ruth Bratton Faulk. They were married on December 22, 1956 and celebrated their 54th anniversary just before his death. He is survived by his daughter, Angela Faulk Towles and husband E. Brown Towles of Angier, NC; grandchildren, Patterson Brown Towles and Caroline Macie Towles. Other surviving family include 2 sisters, Lizzie Lee Williamson of Newport News, VA and Alma Long of Nakina, NC, and 1 brother, James O. Faulk of Camden, SC; a large extended family and numerous friends, including his very dear and special friend, Ray Richardson with whom he worked with for 29 years.
Visitation for family and friends will be 6 to 8 pm Tuesday at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel, 4108 S. College Rd., Wilmington.
Funeral services will be 2 pm Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at College Acres Baptist Church, 702 Eastwood Rd., Wilmington officiated by Rev. Andy Ickes. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
