Was the 2nd of 9 children born to Moses Jr. and Sylvia (Johnson) Adams.

Charles was a descendant of Henry Adams (1583-1646)- his 4th Great Grandfather- who was known as - The Founder of New England, probably because of the extraordinary number (89) of his grandchildren. Henry Adams was also a ancestor of President John Adams- his 2nd Great Grandfather- through his son Joseph. Charles Adams is related through Henry's son-Edward.
Charles's Grandfather was Corp Moses Adams, who fought and died in the American Revolutionary War.

Charles was in the War of 1812- serving in the US Army.

Around 1816-1817 Charles, a few of his siblings and his mother Sylvia and his stepfather Calvin Fuller came to Geauga County, Ohio and purchased 200 acres of farmland.

December 5, 1825 Charles married Elizabeth Hall. They had
9 children.
