GREENVILLE — Funeral services were held today for
James J. Hemmes, 63, of Lincoln Lake Road, Greenville,
who died Friday. Dec. 19, 1986, at St. Mary's Hospital,
Grand Rapids.
He was bom Oct. 5, 1923, in Grand Rapids, to Henry
and Marion Swider Hemmes.
A veteran of World War II, he was a member of Belding
American Legion Post and Cleveland-Wolverton VFW
Post of Greenville. He had worked for many years as an
aulomohile supply salesman.
Surviving are his wife, Teresa; a daughter, Mrs. Carl
(Bonnie) Katterjohn, Gowen; two sons, Fred Hemmes,
Robert and Pam Hemmes, all of Greenville; six
grandchildren.
Also surviving are a half-brother. Milt Hemmes, Greenville; four stepbrothers. Jack, Jim, Fred and Joe Parage,
Grand Rapids.
Services were conducted at Brown-Teman Funeral
Home by the Rev. Elmer Katterjohn with interment in
Rest Haven Cemetery.
