Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred V. Spann, 63, of Echo Township, Antrim County, were held today at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Home. The Rev. Estel Clark of Grace Community Church officiated. Interment was in Densmore Cemetery, Echo Township, under the auspices of the Ladies Auxiliary, Torch Post 6985 Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mrs. Spann died April 20, 1984, at Traverse City Osteopathic Hospital. The former Mildred V. Suzor was born April 1, 1921, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of George and Etta (Post) Suzor. She married Claude (Shorty) Spann at Mt. Pleasant on Oct. 20, 1937. The couple lived in Midland before moving to Echo Township in 1967 where they owned and operated the Spann Bait Shop and Cabins on Scott Lake. Mrs. Spann enjoyed hunting and was a member of the Torch Post 6985, VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include her husband; one son, Richard Spann of Midland; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Barbara Thurston of Sanford and Mrs. Jack (Jean) Patton of Echo Township; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Milo Suzor of Okemos, Decore Suzor of Mt. Pleasant and Harley Suzor of Alexandria, La.; four sisters, Mrs. Elsie Greenacre of East Jordan, Mrs. Ellen Seaman of Ionia, Mrs. Leo (Edith) Spann Sanford and Mrs. Glen (Myrtle) Mc-Comber of Ashley.
