Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today at Mt. Hebron Church Cemetery with Elder James Pugh officiating and Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Dan Anders; her parents, R.E. Hobson and Wretha Avery Hobson; her brothers, Earnest Hobson, Howard Hobson, and Jack Hobson; and her sister, Mildred Hobson O'Neal.
Survivors include her sons, Dan Hobson Anders and wife Connie, and Joseph Earl Anders and wife Donna; her grandchildren, Eric Anders (Asheley) of Tuscaloosa, Dana Anders Terry (Lance) of Mobile; Scott Anders (Tara) of Coker, and Ashley Anders Crow (Brad) of Northport; her great-grandchildren, Spencer Anders, Jaden Crow, Luke Terry, Parker Anders, and Teagan Anders; and other relatives.
Agnes was born November 3, 1924, in Tuscaloosa. She grew up in Brownville and lived her life in the Moores Bridge community. She graduated from Tuscaloosa County High School in 1942. She was a schoolteacher, substitute teacher, and secretary in the Tuscaloosa County School System for many years. In her later years, she was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family.
Pallbearers will be Eric Anders, Scott Anders, Lance Terry, Brad Crow, Frank Rudowski, Neil Hobson, Mike Anders, and Wesley Burkhalter.
Honorary pallbearers are friends and neighbors of the Moores Bridge community, members of Pleasant Ridge Primitive Baptist Church, the Board of Directors and Women's Committee of Tuscaloosa County Farmers Federation, staff of Glen Haven Nursing Home and Hospice of West Alabama, Agnes Sullivan, and Benay White.
