"Martha Janes Tracy, nee Stevenson, was born in Kosciusko county, near Leesburg, May 6, 1849, aged fifty nine years three months and twenty-two days. She married W. S. Tracy December 27, 1871, at Leesburg. This union was blessed with three sons--Fred W. [buried in Saint Joseph Valley Memorial Park ], Chester Ward [buried here], and Lester L. [buried in Mishawaka city cemetery] Chester and Lester preceded their mother in death...
"In February three years ago, she sustained a severe stroke of paralysis, from which she never fully recovered. She will be sadly missed by a husband who walked by her side 37 years and an only son, three sisters, two brothers and many true friends far and near. A brief funeral service was held, Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Evangelical Church in Bippus, conducted by Rev. J. W. Metzner. Then her body was taken to Leesburg, where the funeral was preached Sunday by presiding Elder J. Wise of Fort Wayne."
