Sedate Evans, daughter of Urial Evans and Lucinda Evans, and 2nd spouse of Silas Barrett. Born in Hinsdale, New Hampshire in 1790, and moved to Jefferson County, New York to help her brother-in-law, Silas Barrett, after the passing of Lucinda Evans, her sister. In 1828, Silas Barrett and Sedate Evans married. Sedate was the mother of 3 Children: Silas Barrett, Jr. (b. 1830 d. 1917), Philana Barrett (b. 1834 d. 1884), and Pauline Barrett (b. 1836 d. 1912. (probably buried with spouse, Silas, in Universal Presbyterian Church Cemetery).
