He was a son of Job and Anna Mendenhall. His wife, Ruth, survived him.
Also surviving were three sons, William, Defiance, Don, at home, and Jerry, Dallas, TX; a brother, Don, Celina; a sister, Alfreda Slemmer, Celina; and three grandchildren.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Lake Improvement Association and attended St. John's Lutheran Church.
Services were in Vale and Stein Funeral Home.
