Olive B. Crossley, 88, of Granville, died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010, in Princeton.
Olive was born Oct. 22, 1922, in Stonefort, to Eva (Cavitt) and Joseph Rose Sr. She was married to Cyril E. (Sid) Crossley on Sept. 20, 1941. He preceded her in death.
She was employed by General Electric, Morrison, for 29 years. She was a longtime member of First Christian Church, Rock Falls, and more recently, a member of United Church of Christ, Granville. Since her retirement, Olive was very active in volunteer work.
She is survived by two daughters, Sandie (Larry) Rombout of Florida and Sherri (Gary) Casper of Spring Valley, six grandchildren, Melissa (Jim) Mennie, Doug Rombout, Dennis (Paula) Rombout, Candy (Dennis) Barton, Debby Casper, and Troy Casper; 19 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She also is survived by two sisters, Mae Zemke and Carole Mayberry; three brothers, Robert J. Rose, Dale Rose, and Randy G. Rose; and several nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by her mother; father; stepfather, Leonard Gern; and one brother, Joseph Rose Jr.
Cremation rites will be accorded. Graveside memorial will be at a later date at Coloma Township Cemetery, Rock Falls. Arrangements were completed by Dysart-Cofoid Funeral Chapel, Granville.
A memorial has been established to The Putnam County Senior Center, 128 First St., Standard, IL. 61363
