STEIGER, Alice Lee age 85 of Hanover Township passed after away after a lengthy illness on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Fort Hamilton Hospital in Hamilton, Ohio. Alice was born on October 11, 1925 the daughter of Matthew L. and Leora E. (Martin) Daugherty. She graduated from Hamilton High School and on May 18, 1957, she married Daniel Steiger in Liberty, Indiana. She was an active member of Disciples and Faith United Church of Christ for many years and sang in the choir for over 50 years. Alice had a special love of nature and her dogs.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years Daniel W. Steiger, Jr.; two sons, Steven R. (Janet) Huff, Sr. and Thomas C. (Kathleen) Huff; her daughter-in-law, Rae Ellen Huff Beasley; five grandchildren Steven (Nancy) Huff, Jr., Philip (Michele) Huff, Craig (Kelley) Huff, Lisa (Rick) Friedline, and Michael (Wendy) Huff; nine great grandchildren; one brother James (Illa) Daugherty; and many other loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Richard and Robert Daugherty, her sister Betty Balok and one son Christopher B. Huff.
Funeral services will be held at Charles C. Young Funeral Home, 4032 Hamilton Cleves Road, with burial following in Springdale Cemetery in Reily, Ohio. Visitation until the time of service.
