Charles Beaver lived the last 28 years of his life in Hernshaw, W.Va. Charles was twice married. His first wife's name was Mary Rebecca Burris. His second wife's name was Pearl Bowles. Charles was a Forest Ranger. He caught pneumonia from the bitter cold in his watchtower and later died in a Charleston hospital. Charles continued to father children into his sixties. After his death many of his younger children still living at home were raised by the older brothers and sisters from his first marriage.
